Kids Board Games: Candyland

Candyland is a great first game for the youngest players. The game requires no reading and no counting. Players draw a card to find out what color square they should move their play piece too. If the card contains a double square of color, that's a bonus move.

There are shortcuts to take and pitfalls to avoid along the Candyland path. You may draw the snowflake and jump ahead to Queen Frostine's iceberg. Or you could land on the square that means you are stuck in the Molasses Swamp and have to draw a red card in order to continue.

This game is rather short so young kids can pay attention until the end.
