Make sure your child gets uninterrupted time from you.
Parenting tips have to change with the times. In today’s world of cell phones, video games and busy schedules makes it real easy to forget to spend quality time together. "If Johnny is happy playing his video game for the next hour, I can get a lot done around the house." Johnny getting quality, uninterrupted time from you today is just as important as it was for you growing up. There are lots of things you can do to spend quality time with your child. - Make a lunch date for just the two of you.
- Go for a walk.
- Go out for ice cream.
- If you’re dealing with that teenage boy that just shuts down when he’s not on his video game, then play video games with him and chat while you’re playing.
- The majority of girls love to shop. So take your daughter on a shopping trip, just the two of you. It can result in some good, quality, talking time.
- Play a board game.
Quality time doesn't have to mean you're doing something that costs money. It simply means dedicating a portion of your day to be with your child when no one else is allowed in.This time you're giving your child is making them feel special. It's building their confidence. It's allowing them to learn by observation. And it's keeping that ever-important line of communication open.
