Teacher Gift Ideas

Supplies for the Classroom:

  • Teacher Supply Store - Many teachers spend their own money providing supplies for the classroom. If you know of something they'd like, visit a teacher supply store and get it for them. If you're not sure, ask them for a list of wants they might have.

Food Related:

  • Restaurant Gift Card - If you can make it to a restaurant nicer than they are used to, even better.

  • Coffee Shop Gift Card - What a nice way to start the morning, but be sure that the teacher is a coffee drinker.

  • Have a meal delivered from a local restaurant or a meal delivery service. Your teacher will appreciate not having to cook for her family for an evening or two.

  • Gourmet Muffins or Bagels - Find a local shop that can create a nice gift basket.

  • Sweets - Although many teachers will tell you they don't want chocolate because they don't need chocolate, there are just as many teachers who would love to receive a box of chocolates as a gift. Do a little questioning beforehand to find out her favorite candy.

Pampering Items:

  • Day Spa Certificate - The teacher spends a lot of time caring for children. Give him/her a day where somebody takes care of them. They can choose from a massage, a facial, a manicure or a pedicure.

  • Hair Salon Certificate - It can be for a service they are used to or it would allow them to splurge on something they've never had done before.

  • Nail Salon Certificate - A nice set of acrylics or a french manicure would be enjoyed by a female teacher.

  • Foot Massager - A teacher spends many hours a day on their feet. Nothing would feel better after a long day of teaching than to sit down on the couch and turn on a foot and calf massager.

Personalized Items:

  • Personalized Treat Jar - Give your favorite teacher a lovely, personalized teacher gift which will look great in the classroom or at home. The jar is perfect for storing classroom rewards including stickers, candy or little play toys.
    • Teacher Pen Holder - Your teacher can keep her pens, pencils and scissors organized and close at hand with this personalized pen holder.

    Unique Gifts:

    • Gift Basket - For the teacher who has everything, why not order a unique gift basket that can be delivered to her. You can create your own or choose one from a large variety of themes.

    • Magazine Cover - Put your teacher on a magazine cover. Use the headlines to tell her how much she is appreciated!

    Entertainment:

    • Concert/Play Tickets - Tickets to the local theater or to an upcoming concert coming to your town would give the teacher a nice evening out.

    • Movie Tickets - This gift can be used anytime and fits any personality. No matter what the teacher's taste or preferences, there will be a movie at the theater for him/her to enjoy.

    • Book Store Gift Card - Another very versatile gift. And I can't imagine a teacher who doesn't enjoy reading.

    • I-Pod/I-Tunes Gift Card - If they don't have an I-Pod, introduce them to one. If they do have an I-Pod, supply them with more music.

    • Net-Flix Membership - A monthly subscription service to have movies delivered right to their house.

    Interests and Hobbies:

    • Add to a Collection - Find out if the teacher has an special item they collect such as figurines or sports memorabilia. Then add to the collection. You could find an item in any price range you're aiming for.

    • Professional Sports Clothing - Buy them a t-shirt, sweatshirt or any other item from her favorite sports team.

    • Hobby Supplies - Scrapbooking and stamping are two very popular hobbies. For any hobby he or she may have, buy supplies they would not be willing to buy themselves.

    Monetary:

    • Cold, Hard Cash - Of course, cash is appreciated by anyone. You can give whatever amount you wish and the teacher can decide whether to use it for him/herself or for the classroom.

    • Visa Gift Card - You may not be comfortable giving cash. A Visa gift card can be for any amount you'd like to give and can be used anywhere by the teacher. Again, the teacher can decide whether to use it for him/herself or for the classroom.

    • Department Store Gift Card - Investigate into the teacher's favorite department store and buy a gift card to that store.

    • GiftCertificates.com is a website that allows you to buy a teacher a Super Certificate in any dollar amount. They can then decide which store they'd like to receive a gift card from. There is a large variety of stores to choose from and the certificate never expires. (And it's an instant gift when you need a last minute idea!)
